About RSDG:

Racing Sim Development Group is a non-profit development group with the goal of providing GT modifications to racing sims for both enjoyment and educational purposes. In turn, we hope to spark the interest of fans in other racing venues (such as F1 and NASCAR) into the exciting world of GT style racing series such as ALMS. We also hope this showcases the great work of ISI (Image Space Inc.) in the racing sim world (designers of EA's F1 series, and Sports Car GT). We feel that ISI raised the level of sim racing with their innovative techniques in physics and AI first applied in SCGT which they now carry over into their F1 series.

All work performed by RSDG members is done in their spare time and we do NOT charge any money for any models, physics, AI, tutorials, or any other educational services which we may provide. All registered trademarks are copyright of their respective owners. We hope that you will enjoy these mods and in turn learn more about modeling, physics, AI, and the ALMS and like series. We encourage you to visit your local ALMS event!

In The Beginning:

Racing Sim Developers Group (RSDG) was created in April of 2001 with the goal of bringing together specific talents that would enable it to edit every facet of a given Racing Sim, thus providing 3rd party add-ons, patches, tools, and documentation for the Racing Sim community to spark more interest in GT racing, and ALMS specifically. By the end of May 2001, the team had 10 members, all with experience in the SCGT community, and with a wide range of talents. Those members consisted of:

* John Bayley (BusyBee) - RSDG Founder, programming, veh physics, AI, exe hacks, file formats, multiplayer issues, sound
* Stian Berg (Lord Berg) - RSDG public relations, veh physics, multiplayer issues, testing
* Fred Boye - 3D expert/advisor, textures, track design, animation
* David Chan (DC Racing) - 3D modeling, painting, 3D cockpits, veh physics
* Ron Grzesik (RG) - 3D modeling, painting, veh physics, AI, problem solving, 3D cockpits, documentation, sound
* Antony Hirst - physics/math, programming, file formats, MAX plug-ins, reverse engineering
* Mika Hirvonen - RSDG webmaster, 3D modeling, painting & artwork, 3D cockpits, programming, problem solving
* Stefan Karlsson (GT40-Steven) - RSDG Moderator/coordinator, problem solving, MAX expert, track modeling, exe hacks, file formats, AIW, documentation, reverse engineering, multiplayer issues, patches, quality control ;-)
* Sean Stafford (SRS) - 3D modeling, track design, editing, and conversions, file formats, AIW, documentation
* Chris Ward - 3D modeling, painting

In June of 2001 with the advent of F12001 in the fall, it was decided that this game might provide the best editing platform for "full body" cars and other add-ons given some of the press releases regarding the game, and the fact the RSDG members were already familiar in working with prior ISI (Image Space Inc.) games. With this in mind, RSDG set out to dissect F12000 CS in order to learn all it could about the game structure and it's limitations in hopes of carrying over some of that knowledge to F12001. What the team found in F1CS was more than any of us thought previously possible. With that, and what was known at the time about the upcoming F12001, we felt pretty confident that F12001 would be a great editing platform for full body cars, and related tracks.

When F12001 finally arrived, we started dissecting it immediately and were excited by it's many possibilities. Our plan was to confirm our findings and provide what information we discover about the game to the community to help modelers edit this great game, and also provide some tools and add-ons for the community as well.

To see what projects we are currently working on, please check our projects page.

Easy, drive well and have fun.. and behave! :racer:
