<span style="color:yellow">Physics are almost finished. (Stock Car Mod)
Posted on Monday, October 24, 2005 - 04:56 PM
I am just about finished up on the physics for our Stock Car Mod. I have the short track style and 1.5 mile track style finished. I still have a little "Icy" feel on the straightaways that needs to be fixed in the tire physics, but that is fairly easy to fix. Also have to increase the tire wear a little bit too. We have some very cool things coming in this mod. Things that you will see:
Different chassis and engine types. You will be able to choose things like: (High Downfoce, high drag - Low Downforce, Low Drag - Medium Downforce - Medium Drag - Short Track Chassis - Superspeedway Chassis - Restrictor Plate Chassis - High Horsepower, Higher Chance of blowing engine - Lower Horsepower, Lower Chance of blowing engine - High and Low Torque Engine).
So just like the big boys you will be able to try different downforce packages and chassis mixes to see what best fits the track and your driving style.
We have also have modeled aero differences so just like the real stock cars, higher rear springs at some tracks will induce a aero push condition and lower rear springs will loosen your car. This system will definatley add another form of realism.
:amuse:We are shooting to release a beta soon. We want to use this beta to run races to provide feedback regarding tire wear, lap times and driveability.
