The FF1600 and FF1800 gearbox
This is a normal car gearbox. you can use it though without pressing the clutch, both for up shifting or down shifting. (in case you have enabled the manual clutch. You can found this option in the setup MISC tab). In any case you'll need a good foot/hand coordination. For up shifting you must take your foot off the gas pedal, for enough time to make sure the engine release the gearbox from its torque and thus permitting the gears to change. If the gear is not changing, then you haven't cut enough gas from the engine, of you have operated the lever very fast. If your hear the gears make noise, then probably the gear has changed, but you did it in a not optimum way, and this means that in the distance you might have gearbox troubles. Same goes for down shifting, with the difference that you must blip the gas to make sure the rpm's go up to accommodate the lower gear. If you have problems, use the clutch. We have a guide regarding how to down shift, but unfortunately is in italian language.

[edit]The F2000 gearbox
Gear changes with the F2000 are more easy. The gearbox is sequential thus more easy to change gears without using the clutch. Furthermore the car has electronic aids to help gear changing, like automatic cutoff while up shifting. Down shifting is easier too, although its better to always blip the throttle, in order to not block the rear tires from engine brake. You'll hear noises from the box, but it's far more robust from the normal H shifting gearboxes, so don't worry too much...
[edit]The Ftarget gearbox
This is the trickiest gearbox to handle inside nKP. This single seater has also a sequential gearbox, as the F2000 one. But unfortunately, not electronic aids are permitted in this gearbox. To up shift you must raise your foot from the gas pedal. Fortunately there is the cutoff button, which permits up shifting without raising your foot. Here's how to do it.
Pull the gear lever (or push the gear button in case you don't have a gear lever)and KEEP it pulled.
Press the cutoff button (the gear will enter)
Release the gear lever (or button)
The downshifting is the same as the F2000 car. Also in this case you can help gearchanging by operating the clutch if needed.
