After scoring no points at all in the first round England was in dire straits but thanks to a win, 3rd and 7th places plus fastest lap for 30 points at the last race, they now find themselves only 6 points behind the last final spot currently held by Germany, but France-1 also scored well with Eric Coineau's Lotus 2nd place and Martin Audran and Jacques Leblond getting a Ferrari and Honda to 4th and 9th.
